Berkeley has finally enacted a law for free medical marijuana to low-income patients

It has clearly said that the quality of medical marijuana should be same for patients who are paying for it and who are getting it free.

Poor patients have now some hope that they wouldn't suffer due to want of money. Berkeley City Council’s decision will also prompt many other cities and states to come up with similar laws requiring dispensaries to set aside a small ratio for poor patients who cannot afford very expensive medications.
Marijuana

Berkeley City Council has decided to provide free marijuana to very poor patients who cannot afford it in otherwise case. The council has made it into law by a unanimous vote of all the members of the Berkeley City Council.

Now from the next month onwards drug stores in the area will be bound by this law to give at least two percent products to extremely poor patients. But the free medical marijuana will be given to only those people who have been prescribed it by competent medical authorities and hospitals and not to everyone who come asking for it.

The latest law also makes it compulsory for the dispensaries to give the same quality of medical marijuana to all people whether they are paying for it or not.

Approved debilitating medical conditions include amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, multiple sclerosis, terminal cancer, muscular dystrophy, inflammatory bowel disease, including Crohn’s disease, terminal illness, if the physician has determined a prognosis of less than 12 months of life.
